While the current market still remains tight, there has been a concerted effort to drive our Services offering through the businesses, where possible, and this is slowly starting to show signs of returns.
The recent appointment of Douglas Morrison, Director of Group Services to head up the team was key for this drive to see improved, real growth in this side of the business and to double the Services business by next year. We should all be aware that our Seanamic Group strategy includes both Product and Service deliveries to our client base.
“The creation of a dedicated business unit within the group has allowed the teams to be fully focused on service, spares & overhaul opportunities. Development of the OEM legacy plan supported by a clear re-engagement plan for key products and client accounts has allowed us to have some initial key wins which link well to the overall Aftermarket strategy set in late 2018.
The client re-engagement plans are progressing well and long may this continue.
The next phase for the teams through 2020 and beyond is to secure further long term agreements and expand the client base in key regions internationally to secure stable and profitable growth. This growth will aid cross selling / utilisation within the Group.
The initial 8 months have been challenging for all involved, but hopefully enjoyable!
Thanks to all involved across the Group and keep up the good work… onwards and upwards….”
There are also plans afoot to build up our Umbilicals & IMES International capabilities in Rosyth with a new quayside facility opening into the 4th quarter of this year. UIUK have discovered a lucrative niche in the Umbilicals market, especially for MBUs and repair services in other sectors including subsea cutting, hull cleaning & air diving Umbilicals.
As they move into the new UIUK/IMES facility, we plan to invest in a larger extrusion line which will hopefully open up new markets for manufacturing IWOC’s & similar products but just as importantly a far larger repair market for extruded Umbilicals.
Finally, we would like to welcome Neil Stewart who has joined the business. His primary focus will be on Caley and Umbilicals International sales, he will be based in Aberdeen.
We are also pleased to welcome Gordon Kerr into the organisation as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Seanamic Group. Gordon takes over from Ross and will be based at the Caley office in Govan.
Both Neil & Gordon bring a wealth of experience from previous roles and we wish them all the best in their new roles within the Group and look forward to working with them.
